  1. The first of 8 Popular Longevity Products - Indoor Rowing Machine

Several years ago, I made a trip to Kauai, Hawaii with my then girlfriend and we rented a small canoe to row down the river to get to the hiking trail that would lead us to pristine waterfalls. It was so beautiful there, but we had trouble at first getting in sync and rowing properly in the canoe. Since I was stronger than her, I did most of the rowing and although I was in good shape, I was exhausted when we finally made it to the trail. I realized then the benefits of rowing, and the best way to replicate that in the city is with an indoor rowing machine.

It does have a rather large footprint, and the fan noise may not be ideal if you're in a small apartment, but you won't find a much better overall experience on many other indoor rowing machines.

  1. Smart Watch

I love my iWatch. It has many very cool features, but when I saw the Garmin fēnix 7 Pro Sapphire Solar, Multisport GPS Smartwatch, I was blown away! This watch boasts many features: Daily readiness, HRV, sleep, SpO₂, training load, and recovery insights help you periodize workouts, protect your circadian rhythm, and balance stress vs. adaptation—core longevity themes. It has an excellent battery, robust metrics (HRV, training readiness), and a durable build. It comes at a price (lists at $899 but usually on sale), and there is a learning curve, but you won't find a watch better suited to enhance your healthy lifestyle. And, it gets around a 4.6/5 rating on Amazon.

  1. Breathing Fresh Air

Clean indoor air lowers chronic inflammatory burden—and it's good for respiratory and cardiovascular longevity. Especially when you live in the city, you're breathing in pollutants and toxins daily. In my "Stay Healthy, Stay Youthful - The Science of Living to 150" book, I do a whole chapter on environmental toxins and what we can do to counteract the sludge that makes its way into our bodies.

The IQAir HealthPro Plus XE Air Purifier boasts Smart HyperHEPA Filtration for Large Rooms up to 1125 sq ft - It covers Smoke, Viruses, Allergens, Asthma, Mold, Dust, and Pet Dander. Red light therapy, using low-level wavelengths of red or near-infrared light, promotes cellular repair and reduces inflammation, supporting skin health (e.g., reducing wrinkles), wound healing, and muscle recovery. It boosts mitochondrial function, increasing ATP production for energy, and may alleviate pain and improve joint function, as shown in a 2024 study in Journal of Photobiomodulation where it reduced arthritis symptoms by 30% in patients. Non-invasive and safe, it’s a promising tool for enhancing healthspan and combating age-related decline.

That's quite a title for a product! This product boasts clinical‑grade irradiance, flicker‑free LEDs, a straightforward setup, and strong user satisfaction with a 4.7/5 rating on Amazon. It works best with consistent, short daily sessions (you can find the time!); the results are gradual, and you need to find a dedicated space for it.

Massage therapy promotes relaxation, reduces stress, and alleviates muscle tension, enhancing overall well-being and supporting mental health. It improves blood circulation, which aids in tissue repair and reduces inflammation, potentially easing chronic pain conditions like lower back pain by up to 36%, as shown in a 2024 study in Journal of Pain Research. I chose the Garmin Index S2, Smart Scale with Wireless Connectivity, which retails at around $199.99. Body‑composition trends, weight‑trend lines, and multi‑user profiles make it easier to monitor the lifestyle interventions I outline in my book "Stay Healthy, Stay Youthful - The Science of Living to 150."

In addition to a first aid kit and thermometer, it is highly recommended to own a blood pressure cuff and pulse oximeter.

Home blood pressure tracking is one of the most powerful, inexpensive ways to manage cardiovascular risk—central to healthy longevity. Pulse ox monitors are also inexpensive, fit nicely on your finger, and monitor how much oxygen your body is intaking at any given time.

How to Choose (and Actually Use) These Tools
